BASF increases price for Polyalcohols in Asia Pacific

Hong Kong, China, July 2, 2008 – With immediate effect or as existing

contracts permit, BASF is raising its prices for Polyalcohols in Asia

Pacific:

Neopentylglycol (NPG) USD200/mt

1,6-Hexanediol (HDO) USD300/mt

Hydroxypivalic acid neopentylglycol ester (HPN) USD200/mt

The adjustment is necessary to address the sharp increases in raw

material costs as well as the high energy and logistics costs.

Polyalcohols are widely used in polyester, polyurethane & alkyd resins

for coatings and synthetic lubricants.
